Babywearing International of Wichita

Babywearing International, Inc. (BWI) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to promote babywearing as a universally accepted practice, with benefits for both child and caregiver, through education and support. Babywearing International of Wichita is a local chapter of BWI supporting Wichita, Kansas and surrounding areas.

We offer free, public meetings led by Volunteer Babywearing Educators (VBEs) with extensive knowledge of different types of baby carriers and babywearing safety. While we do not sell or endorse specific brands of baby carriers, this chapter maintains a lending library so that members and attendees can try a variety of carriers to determine what meets their individual needs. At our monthly chapter meetings we offer education on babywearing safety and offer support to anyone who is interested in getting more information or assistance with their own baby carriers. Our VBEs will give demonstrations, answer questions, assist caregivers in finding and using a certain type of baby carrier, and offer support and encouragement to babywearing parents and caregivers.
