We can teach anyone how to draw!
The Monart guided drawing system shows students how to perceive the visual world in terms of five basic elements of shape. Just as a musician learns notes and scales in order to play an instrument, students learn the skills necessary to translate their perceptions onto paper. This method has achieved phenomenal results among both children and adults, including those with learning differences. Teachers that regularly use the guided drawing method in the classroom, report that reading and math scores rise as much as twenty percent. Studies have shown that when students draw the subjects they are studying they learn the information eight times faster and retain the information eight times longer.
Monart guided drawing is more than a method that teaches people how to draw. Leading educators recognize Monart guided drawing as a teaching system that helps students to learn how to focus and concentrate, make decisions, solve problems, sequence and develop hand-eye coordination. In a non-competitive, peaceful environment students learn that drawing is a teachable subject in which anyone can learn to draw, and that there are no mistakes in art.
Students come to understand that in class there is no competition or comparisons, no right or wrong way to draw, and that you will learn from everything you draw, even if you don’t like the results. In addition to learning the skills of drawing, learning to draw has also been shown to have positive effects on children’s different learning styles…including their ability to focus, plan, and follow-through to completion.
With Monart guided drawing, every student has the opportunity to experience increased self esteem, creativity and confidence, and develop skills that are transferable to other areas of learning. At the Monart School of Art we strive to provide the very highest quality of art education. This is accomplished two-fold because of our patented method and our extremely qualified teachers.
With 10 locations in the area, the YMCA puts Christian principles into practice through programs that promote healthy lifestyles, strong families, and positive youth development to build healthy spirit, mind and body for all, regardless of ability to pay.
Thank you for your interest in Central Christian Academy (CCA) for your child’s education. As a ministry of Central Christian Church for more than 35 years, our mission is to partner with the local church and Christian families who desire both quality academics and a Christ-centered, biblically-based education for their children.
By the time a child graduates from high school, they will have spent more than 14,000 hours in a school setting being instructed and mentored by their teachers. Therefore, the choice you make regarding which school your children attends is one of critical importance, both from an academic point of view and, more importantly, in terms of spiritual development. As Jesus said, “… everyone who is fully trained will be like his/her teacher.” (Luke 6:40). The faculty and staff at CCA are carefully selected for their academic excellence and their Christ-like example.
Kumon is a structured, supplemental math and reading program which guides students from counting to calculus in the Math program and from learning letter sounds to reading high school-level literary text in the Reading program. Through individualized instruction, carefully planned by the instructor, students progress step-by-logical step through the program to build a solid grasp of math and reading while also building critical thinking skills and the mindset to learn new materials independently. Students complete daily assignments that take about 30-minutes per subject in two sessions per week at the Center and the other five days at home. Each worksheet teaches a lesson that’s one small step more advanced than the lesson before so students progress smoothly and gain confidence with each new success.
At Camp Invention, children invent, build, question, and discover. They experience real-world problem solving and creative thinking as they transform the terrain and ecosystem of a distant exoplanet, take risks as future entrepreneurs, blast rockets and rubber chickens, and wire a circuit to create their own Spy Gadget Alarm Box! Local educators lead a week of hands-on activities that fuel children’s 21st century skills.
