Friends University will present the comedy Leaving Iowa, Sept. 25-27. The fall theatre production was written by Tim Clue and Spike Manton and produced by special arrangement with Dramatic Publishing, Co.

Leaving Iowa is a comic tale about family vacations and the unusual sites the Browning family witness each summer. Together, they reflect upon eccentric memories gone by in honor of their late, beloved father. This witty story is told through flashbacks and contemporary reflection with a small mixed ensemble who play more than twenty roles.

Called “quintessential family entertainment” by the Chelsea Standard and both “simultaneously hilarious and touching” by the Chicago Sun-Times, this heart-warming tale “leaves you with a smile on your face and a desire to re-hug your kids,” by The Detroit News. This light-hearted adventure retells the humorous plight of the all-American family, traveling their summers in search of their next great adventure while striving to get away from it all.

These special performances will be available to view via livestreaming at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 25 and 26 and 2 p.m. on Sept. 27. Due to licensing restrictions, the link will be shared via Friends Leaving Iowa Facebook event page a few hours before the premiere of each performance, then will be unavailable after the premiere has ended.

The performances will be shared from the Cornerstone Studio Theater in the Riney Fine Arts Center on the Friends University campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan.
