Summit Park Shelter in El Dorado
Lauren D. says “You can rent the covered shelters by calling the Parks & Rec department. I think it costs around $25 to rent one. Definitely a good idea to reserve if you’re going to have a bday party!”

High Park in Derby

Derby Recreation Center – gymnasium rental

Derby Public Library
Alison B. said, “We did a birthday party in there and they were very easy to work with.”

Sedgwick County Park has several shelters – some enclosed and some open.

Wichita Public Library has rooms of all sizes at most every location around the city.

Watermark Books
Michele R says, “I had my baby shower at Watermark Books….you can rent a room for free if you use their cafe to supply food (it is good food and not expensive)….you would have to decorate room and provide all the fun stuff.”

Bel Aire Recreation Center

Andover Fire Station – free!
Christina H. mentioned that “My son was 2 and by the time we climbed all over the trucks, ate pizza and cake and opened presents it was time to end the party.”

Meaghan Koci
Meaghan wears many hats throughout the day: wife to husband of fifteen years, Jeremy, mom to two incredible children, Jacob and Aliza, legal assistant, foster parent, and surrogate. A Wichita native, she met her husband at K-State (Go State!) and they moved from coast (Los Angeles, CA) to coast (Manchester, NH and Groton, CT) before settling back down in Kansas. She is a big fan of her crock pots, has read more than a novel a day for the last five years, and crochets in her “spare” time.
