Kansas Dance Academy offers classes in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, modern and music theatre to ages 2-Adult. They have a professional, adult staff dedicated to teaching the art of dance to all ages in a safe and loving environment.

Mark Arts keeps your children’s hands busy and minds engaged with classes in painting, ceramics, culinary and more. Kids’ Day Out workshops are frequently scheduled on school in-service days. During summers and other school breaks, Mark Arts offers STEAM Academy, which links art to science, technology, engineering and math. Free monthly Art Together events occur on second Saturdays from 9 a.m. – noon and offer a variety of art projects, demonstrations, performances and learning opportunities for families. The galleries are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free.

Art Start is a FREE program for children ages 3 to 5 and their adult chaperone to engage with art, imagine, and learn together. Each month children explore a new theme related to the making and meaning of works of art in the museum’s collection. A multi-faceted curriculum engages preschoolers in the looking, listening, and creative activities of the visual arts that emphasize the State of Kansas early learning skills standards.

Kelcy’s is a dance school that provides proper technique in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, acro & contemporary to dancers of all skill levels. They have two locations in east Wichita to better serve their students with smaller class sizes and a wide variety of dance styles. They offer competitive dance opportunities with Platinum Dance Company and EVU which compete in several local and regional dance competitions each year. The Wichita Ice Center offers classes in figure skating and hockey for kids and adults ages 3 and up! Learn to Skate USA® group classes make learning to skate fun and safe for all as they grow an everlasting love for this sport. Through the curriculum and certified, passionate instructors, they build solid skill progression to grow self-esteem in both kids and adults while providing them the resources to reach their hopes and dreams. The Lil Thunder Intro to Hockey Program is available for girls and boys ages 4 and up. The program teaches the basic foundational skills necessary for hockey: skating, stickhandling, passing, and shooting! Something happens the moment your child’s skates touch the ice. It’s surreal. Empowering. It’s the experience where kids learn much about skating, and themselves. Your child learns glides, swizzles, edges, and crossovers. Wichita Swim Club Swim School strives for each swimmer to receive the best education and experience through swimming to prepare them to be champions in life, both in AND out of the water. BALLET WICHITA: Training Dancers for Life
They offer a progressive ballet training program for ages 5 to the professional adult. In addition to their training program, classes include Babes in Arms for parents with infants, Toddlers Turn, Young Men’s Ballet, Contemporary dance, Musical Theatre, Pointe classes, Pas de Deux, Adult Ballet Technique and more.
There are performance opportunities for ages 5 and up. For this season’s full stage performances, auditions will be held for The Nutcracker, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the Ballet In the Park series.

Music Together helps nurture the youngest learners to be life-long music-makers! Their family music and movement classes are geared for newborns-age eight with the support and participation of parents/caregivers. They sing, dance, play, jam — and even be silly — together! When you join the community, you’re investing not only in your child’s music development, but their whole-child development, as music learning supports all learning! Plus, it’s 45-minutes of connection and bonding time with your child each week! Class offerings include Babies/Musical Parenting Group (0-9 mo.), Mixed-Ages (0-5 yrs.), Music Together con Español (0-5 yrs.) , and Rhythm Kids (4-8 yrs.).

Come perform and learn with WCT&DC. They have classes for ages 3 through adult, and offer the following disciplines: ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, modern, lyrical and pointe. Adult classes include tap and hip-hop. Theatre classes include a wide variety: acting classes, touring singing groups, musicals and straight play productions. There are two shows during the year you can participate in for free. Check out their daytime Once Upon a Time class to give you a few hours free during the day. WCT&DC does not have an enrollment or recital fee.

Wichita Riding Academy, Inc. is the #1 Horse Riding Academy in the area with hundreds of students! No experience needed to ride at WRA, offering introductory/beginner lessons all the way up to World Champion level lessons. Lesson types: Introductory, Mini (15 min), 30 minute, and 60 minute private lessons. Just book your appointment online then show up with positive attitude and they will take it from there! WRA also has monthly group lessons that meet once a week (1 hr) for 4 weeks. Group lessons offered include beginners, level 1, level 2, level 3 and Adult only. Horseback lessons help with child development, improving health and fitness, life lessons, improved social skills, boost to their confidence, and teaching children to take responsibility.
