Girls try new things and overcome fears while gaining confidence, independence, and making new friends in an environment just for girls – at Girl Scout Camp. You don’t have to already be a Girl Scout to attend camp. It’s where girls get to be explorers, creative thinkers, and build their leadership and friendship skills in new and exciting ways. This summer she’ll have plenty of outdoor adventures, fun learning experiences, and special activities developed specifically for her age. STEAM Academy emphasizes creativity and innovation, linking art to concepts in science, technology, engineering and math. Students explore mixed media, drawing, painting, and clay projects inspired by weekly themes. Morning sessions are for ages 5-8 and meet from 10 a.m. to noon. Afternoon sessions are for ages 9-12 and meet from 1 – 3 p.m. Each week concludes with guest speakers from the Wichita community and an exhibition of the students’ work for family, friends and visitors to experience. Theater also has a wide range of classes from 1 week camps for preschoolers like Bluey Camp and Gabby’s Dollhouse, camps and performance classes for Ages 6 – Teenagers including Basic Acting, Singing for the Actor, Newsies, High School Musical, Aristocats and Magic Treehouse. There is something in the schedule for everyone.
