Tinkergarten is a research-based program designed to help kids develop and get ready for school and life through outdoor, play-based learning activities. To the kids, it’s a chance to connect with nature, wonder and solve problems, move their bodies, make friends and have fun. For adults, it’s a chance to connect with like-minded parents and learn creative and effective ways to play and learn with our kids.
It’s all based on best practices and the science of early learning, and it’s happening in all but one state in the country. Now, I am helping to bring it to our community!
Tinkergarten is on a mission to elevate childhood. We’re growing a technology-enabled network of leaders that bring families together in a natural place in their community for classes where kids learn through play. Each class becomes a tight-knit group of children and adults who learn together through expert-designed, outdoor play-based activities. We help kids develop a host of important capabilities, including empathy, collaboration, creativity, persistence, and problem-solving. Our classes and activities help kids ages 18 months—8 years develop core life skills while enjoying healthy, fun, engaging experiences in the physical freedom of local green spaces.
Join the movement of thousands of families learning outside together. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Find a Tinkergarten® class in your community, nominate a leader to start one, or use our free DIY activities to enjoy some well-spent time with your kids.
Tinkergarten is a live, weekly class paired with an at-home curriculum, and a rich learning community to make purposeful outdoor play doable for every family in every season. We’ll meet in a local green space each week where you and your Explorer will be led through class rituals, songs and movement to inspire outdoor play. Let’s play!
