Kumon is a structured, supplemental math and reading program which guides students from counting to calculus in the Math program and from learning letter sounds to reading high school-level literary text in the Reading program. Through individualized instruction, carefully planned by the instructor, students progress step-by-logical step through the program to build a solid grasp of math and reading while also building critical thinking skills and the mindset to learn new materials independently. Students complete daily assignments that take about 30-minutes per subject in two sessions per week at the Center and the other five days at home. Each worksheet teaches a lesson that’s one small step more advanced than the lesson before so students progress smoothly and gain confidence with each new success.

Field Station: Dinosaurs is a world-class family attraction that combines cutting-edge science with the creative minds of great artists and teachers to create a one-of-a-kind experience that’s thrilling, educational and fun.
Set against the natural backdrop of rolling Kansas grasslands, the Field Station is just minutes outside Wichita, Kansas. Over 40 life-sized, realistic dinosaurs (including the 90-foot long Alamosaurus, among the largest animatronic dinosaurs ever made) come to life thanks to the brilliant engineering of the world’s leading roboticists and the imagination of our artists. The park also includes Kansas Climb – a geodesic dome ropes course and Jurassic Golf, creating memorable and challenging activities for every member of the family.
The story of the dinosaurs is vividly presented on 14 acres of tall grasses, shady trees, winding trails and an outdoor amphitheatre. Swim Newton Inc is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization founded in 1996 with the goal of helping team members develop and refine their swimming skills. Swimmers practice year-round at the Newton High School pool and at the Newton Municipal Pool during summer months. Swim Newton participates in the Missouri Valley Division of United States Swimming. Swim Newton swimmers have the opportunity to develop and excel while participating in USS sanctioned swim meets. As swimmers progress and achieve qualifying times, they may participate in Missouri Valley and USS Championships. Swim Newton has competed in District MV Championships, Missouri Valley Championships, Central Zones, Sectionals, and Junior National competitions. There have also been several swimmers go on to participate as scholarship athletes at the NCAA Division I and II University level.
