Field Station: Dinosaurs is a world-class family attraction that combines cutting-edge science with the creative minds of great artists and teachers to create a one-of-a-kind experience that’s thrilling, educational and fun.
Set against the natural backdrop of rolling Kansas grasslands, the Field Station is just minutes outside Wichita, Kansas. Over 40 life-sized, realistic dinosaurs (including the 90-foot long Alamosaurus, among the largest animatronic dinosaurs ever made) come to life thanks to the brilliant engineering of the world’s leading roboticists and the imagination of our artists. The park also includes Kansas Climb – a geodesic dome ropes course and Jurassic Golf, creating memorable and challenging activities for every member of the family.
The story of the dinosaurs is vividly presented on 14 acres of tall grasses, shady trees, winding trails and an outdoor amphitheatre. Scientists from the Bighorn Basin Paleontological Institute have worked to ensure that the exhibition encompasses the latest theories and discoveries in the fields of paleontology, geology and environmental studies. Workshops, games and activities connect the story of the dinosaurs to our world today, giving new relevance to their lives and power to the tale of their extinction.
Garten’s Music is a family-owned retail store that opened in 1969, now featuring keyboard instruments, guitars, ukuleles, music books and more! Band instruments are also available for rental or purchase. In addition, the Wichita Music Academy offers lessons for children and adults in piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, voice, violin, viola, cello, brass, woodwinds, and drums and percussion. All of our instructors must pass four background checks, and all of them have university training and/or professional performance experience. We believe that learning to make music should be fun and that students should learn the music they want to play! Summer Basketball League – WASP – Wichita Area Sports Programs
The Summer Basketball League was established with the goal of providing kids an opportunity to play off-season basketball in a organized format. The focus will be for kids to continue improving their skills and staying active with a basketball in the off-season while continuing to play summer in-season sports. WASP will provide a reversible jersey, eight games with officials and an end of season ALL-STAR GAME. To sign up, please fill out the registration form online. Early registration is discounted and recommended, as participants are limited due to event space. You will have the opportunity to reference friends or coaches that you want on your team. They will do our best to accommodate these requests. If you want to coach, please complete the volunteer information within the registration form.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary in California this year, RKDC is partnering with Senseney Music at the Center to bring their award-winning dance education program to Wichita.
