Babies on Board
Spring is the best time for baby animal sightings at the Zoo! Bear cubs Sama and Takelma will soon be turning one year old and have been spotted playing in their outdoor habitat more than ever. Two-month-old maned wolf pup Amora is spending more time outside with her new giant companion, a Great Dane named Goose. Goose temporarily spends time with Amora on habitat to help her learn important social skills and become more comfortable with her new environment.
The newest addition to the Zoo can be found in the South America area in the peccary habitat. A few weeks ago, the Zoo welcomed baby Chacoan peccary Louise to parents Pickles and Karl. Louise is very active and can often be seen playing with her family in their habitat.
The Farms area of the Zoo is anticipating an exciting lambing and kidding season in the coming months, so prepare to see adorable baby goats and lambs soon!
An App for All
One of the most anticipated features coming to the Zoo this year is the all new SCZ app. Designed for ease and with user-friendly controls, the SCZ app is a one-stop-shop for anything a busy Zoo guest would need during their visit. Find a detailed map with animal locations and information, including restrooms, nearby food stops, and available attractions. Use the “Plan” feature to outline your visit and discover distance and walking times between animals. Add digital membership cards, see a calendar of upcoming events, and be sure to turn on notifications to receive important animal feeding or location updates while inside the Zoo.
Making A Splash
Sedgwick County Zoo is thrilled to reopen Stingray Cove for the season! This immersive attraction allows guests to come face to fin with the wonders of the ocean, where they’ll have the opportunity to interact with sharks and stingrays up close.
Even better, entry to the Cove is now free for all Zoo guests! This is an amazing opportunity for visitors of all ages to learn about these gentle creatures and the vast ocean they live in.
Guests looking to upgrade their experience can feed the stingrays by purchasing an attraction ticket or Go Wild pass. It’s a unique and exciting chance to get hands-on with some of the most fascinating creatures on the planet, so be sure to include it in your next Zoo trip!
New Menu
Hungry after seeing new animals and attractions? Another new feature this year is a fresh lineup of mouthwatering menu items available throughout the Zoo. Bite into the delicious new Brisket Burger packed with smoky flavor, or enjoy the zesty Chili Lime Wrap for a refreshing twist. If you’re craving something lighter, try our crisp and flavorful Pub Salad topped with buttery pretzel croutons, or treat yourself to a savory Burrata Pizza. For those with a sweet tooth, check out our range of new ice cream flavors like key lime pie or blueberry cheesecake. Whether you’re refueling between stops or grabbing a quick snack to go, our new menu offerings are sure to hit the spot.
