14 Days of Valentines :: An Easy V-Day Project for Non-Crafty Moms

Valentine’s Day is not my favorite holiday, in fact I’m one of the least romantic ladies you will probably run into! However, I love giving gifts and seeing the expressions of joy on my kids faces. Enter Pinterest.

Most of my ideas end up #PinterestFails, but I have found a ton of very simple, easily assembled projects that my kids love to receive for every holiday imaginable. A huge success I just had to share is the “14 Days of Valentines“. Bonus: This craft/gift is  something that even a 100% non-crafty person like me can do! I first tried it a few years ago for my 5-year-old and my husband. They got such a kick out of getting up each morning and having little gifts waiting for them! Their presents were slightly different, but the concept was the same and you can easily adjust this for adults and kids of different ages.

14 Days of Valentine'sWhat You Need:

  • Red and/or Pink Construction Paper
  • Ribbon or string (or for the non-crafty like me-tape)
  • Red Marker
  • Scissors
  • As many (or as few) gifts as you want to give your kids

1. Cut hearts out of the construction paper.

2. Write a fun little sentence on each heart that coordinates with each gift.

3. Attach the heart with the ribbon (or tape).

4. Set it out at your designated spot for them to find in the morning.

Voilá! It’s that simple, and your kids will love getting a small treat each day leading up to Valentine’s Day! To make my life easier I spent one evening gathering my supplies and putting them all together. I kept them hidden and each night grabbed one to set out.

This year I’m planning 14 gifts each and both of my boys will get the same EXACT thing – the best way I’ve found to avoid arguing over who gets what!14 Days of Valentines | Wichita Moms BlogHere are a few ideas to get you started:
