Autism Speaks

Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the life span, for the needs of people with autism and their families.

Autistic Adults and Parents Support Network (AAPSNet)

A blog for online networking, support, exchange of information, and news about upcoming events for high-functioning young adults on the autism spectrum and their parents.

Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinic

The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Clinic provides individualized assessment and treatment for individuals diagnosed with or suspected to have ASD. The model presented represents an eclectic approach to treatment that allows for a program to be designed that best meets the needs of the individual client.

Ability Point

Ability Point (formerly The Arc) makes a difference in the lives of individuals and families living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. For 70 years, Ability Point has promoted their general welfare, fostered the development of programs on their behalf and increased the public’s awareness and acceptance.

Brain Balance

Brain Balance Program efficiently works on improving developmental delays with your child based on the areas where they find the greatest need. Academic activities, sensory motor training, and dietary guidelines are included in each child’s individualized plan. They believe that these activities are valuable in developing an integrated, whole-child approach to helping children overcome the challenges of Autism.

Erin is Hope Foundation Inc.

Erin Is Hope Foundation, is a not-for-profit organization offering speech, occupational, and physical therapies for children of all ages.

Families Together

Families Together, Inc. is the Kansas Parent Training and Information (PTI) & Family-to-Family Health Information (F2F) Center. 501 (c )3 non-profit organization that provides support and information for families of children, from birth to age 26, with disabilities and/or special health care needs. Programs are offered at no cost to families, and are available in English and Spanish.

Greater Expectations

As part of the Independent Living Resource Center, Greater Expectation’s mission is to become a catalyst for growth and opportunities for individuals ages 15 and up on the autism spectrum and other developmental differences. Personalized visions and goals are developed by using evidence-based practices and a team approach with parents/caregivers.

Heartspring

Heartspring’s CARE Clubs offer a wide range of social skill-building opportunities for middle & high schoolers. The goal at CARE is to help children and teens with ASD learn valuable skills necessary for social and emotional development. Each of the clubs is tailored to fit the individual needs of the participants. Heartspring offers many resources for families, as well as Teen Hangout Nights and Parent Night Out.

Kansas Behavioral Health

Direct Applied Behavioral Analysis services are available for young children diagnosed with autism. This service uses behavior analytic approaches to teach a wide variety of communication, social, self-care and cognitive skills to children with developmental issues. Services are generally provided one-on-one in the home and community environment. All services are provided by a registered behavior technician under the direct supervision of a board certified behavior analyst.

Kansas Family Support Center

Supporting all Kansas children and youth with autism, intellectual/developmental and other disabilities, and behavioral support needs, no matter where they are located. Their team of researchers and certified autism providers work together to provide information and support that is tailored to the needs of your child and family.

KDADS Autism Waiver Program

Children under the age of 5 who have received a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder are eligible to apply for an Autism Waiver through the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS). There is currently a waiting list. Reach out to leigh.smith@ks.gov or call (785) 296-3913 for more information.

 If a child has Autism and is over the age of 5, they can apply for the I/DD waiver. This does have a long waitlist, but kids are moved up based on acuity levels. Reach out to Letha Farwell at )785)296-0648 or Letha.Farwell@ks.gov for more information.

Serving children with Autism in the Wichita area through ABA Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Parent Training & Consultation.

Rainbows United

Rainbows United offers progressive, advanced therapies for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder through ABA, Applied Behavior Analysis, Commercial Insurance and Kansas Managed Care Organizations through Early Screening Diagnosis and Treatment. 

Sedgwick County Community Developmental Disability Organization

Parents can apply for Home and Community Based Service before their child turns 5, but children cannot be added to the waiting list until they are 5 years old.
