Backyard Water Fun For All Ages

Every summer, the question on so many mama’s minds is, “What are we going to do all day, every day?!” Growing up in the 80’s, we had pretty simple summers, and as I have reminisced about those fun summers, one of the best memories of my childhood is playing in the sprinkler. There are so many fun and exciting water activities that are available for kids of all ages that can make staying close to home feel like a special day.

Toddler Activities

This Beach Ball sprinkler was a huge family favorite for years. We looked forward to running through the sprays that were on the sides and the top. It was sturdy enough to last through our two boys toddler and preschool years!

I love this Hydro Twist sprinkler as it is easy to attach to the end of the hose. It works great for toddlers as the spray isn’t too strong for the littlest ones.

When my kids were toddlers and preschool aged, they loved to play outside at their water table. It is a great place to work on fine motor skills while pouring water from one level to the next. Water tables are a great way to help toddlers have a good time splashing around without cold water spraying them.

Bigger Kid Activities

There are lots of fun sprinklers that are geared a little more toward older kids. This fun rainbow arch is tall enough for older kids to run through.

Slip and Slides are a crowd-pleaser for kids. There are a variety of lengths, single, double, and triple slides, and even slides with boogie boards. We love to squirt a little dish soap on it to make it extra slippery!

My boys absolutely love to have water gun and water balloon fights. We are planning to have a neighborhood fight and are gathering up our supplies. We love these Nerf water gun and Bunch O Balloons that fill up in seconds. When we discovered these we can prepare for a fun fight in no time.

Kids of All Ages

Inflatable splash pads are lots of fun and refreshing for the whole family. It is a great option for new walkers, or older kids who may not be as mobile.

If you are looking for an inflatable pool with a slide, climbing wall, and water canon, there are great options! This pool will be quite a hit for the whole family.

Above ground pools are a temporary option that you can get for the summer for a pretty affordable price. There are some with filters and a few feet deep so that you can leave them up throughout the summer.

What is your family’s favorite backyard water activity?
