8 Things To Do With Kids at Tanganyika | Splash Park, Animal Feedings & Experiences

Thank you to Tanganyika Wildlife Park for sponsoring this article.

Tanganyika Wildlife Park opens for the season on Saturday, March 13. Let’s see if you can mark off these 8 things to do with your family in 2021!

Buy a Season Pass

If you’re a fan of Tanganyika Wildlife Park, you’ve probably heard of the big annual season pass sale, which in the past has provided unlimited visits to the wildlife park all season long. This year, they’re taking it up a notch by offering something wildly unbelievable!

They’re combining TWO parks for the price of ONE. If you purchase a season pass between March 1-14, you will receive unlimited access to both the wildlife park AND splash park all season long. Double the parks, double the FUN!

But wait, there’s more.

Tanganyika has added two premium season pass bundles for the 2021 season: Silver and Gold. In addition to unlimited wildlife park and splash park visits all season, these levels provide special access to connect with animals like never before through animal feedings and a long list of big-time exclusive features such as guest passes, early entry to the park, free kids programs, winter access and activities, and so much more!

Enjoy Tanganyika Falls Splash Park

Tanganyika’s new 5,000 square foot splash park was a hit when it opened late in the season last year. This year, you can enjoy the entire splash park from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Complete with three slides, giant water-spewing animals, shade and lounging, restrooms, changing rooms, showers, and more—your family can have a full day of splashing fun. Conveniently, the splash park is located within the wildlife park so your kids can visit and connect with their favorite animals and then cool off before heading home. Did we mention the Thirsty Sloth Bar with four signature beers? Check it out!

Send your kiddo to a camp

Between Tanganyika’s spring break camps, summer camps, and day camps, you’re all set!

Tanganyika has fun-filled and educational kids camps throughout the year. From spring break camp, to summer camp, to regular day camps, and more—Tanganyika is the perfect place to drop your kids off for an interactive experience with trained educators. Camps include animal encounters, demonstrations, science experiments, crafts, games, and more that will give your child a unique opportunity to learn about and connect with the natural world.

Feed your favorite animals

One of the things that makes Tanganyika Wildlife Park so different is the interactive animal encounters. Many people of all ages say that these opportunities to connect so closely with animals are their favorite part of visiting Tanganyika. Feeding stations include Indian Rhino, Pygmy Hippo, Giraffes, Lorikeets, Petting Zoo, and the ever so popular Lemurs on the Lap which was brought back in 2020. Though it’s not a feeding station, visitors also love walking through the kangaroo yard and having the chance to pet them!

Book a monthly exclusive animal experience

Tanganyika recently started offering a monthly exclusive animal experience. Each month, their connection team creates a thoughtfully designed new exclusive experience for guests to enjoy that is only available for one month. Recently, they’ve offered a baby goat walk, birds behind-the scenes, and animal ambassadors in training. Let’s see what exciting experience they come up with next!

Host a birthday party

Not your average birthday party, that’s for sure! That’s why they call it a wildly different birthday party. You can even add animals such as a penguin, sloth, or porcupine to the guest list! Their parties even include a host to help keep everything going smoothly. In addition to their regular in-season birthday parties, they also offer winter party packages and even a ‘zoo to you’ option where they will bring the party to you. A Tanganyika birthday party is perfect for all those young animal-lovers!

Attend an educational activity

Tanganyika has greatly expanded their educational kids opportunities recently to include more hands-on, interactive, and totally amusing activities. Topping the list are cub club (younger age group) and jungle juniors (older age group)—these are animal-themed programs during the week that include a story and the opportunity to meet a new animal friend. Cub club and jungle juniors just launched in 2020, but kids—and parents are already loving it!
