Wichita’s Newest Jaw-Dropping Attraction
Presented by Imagine Exhibitions and with the help of Premier Sponsors, Slawson Companies, Textron Aviation, Evergy, and Colby B. Sandlian, Botanica is proud to bring “Sean Kenney’s Nature POP!” to Wichita. “We’re excited for visitors to find delight in these household toys that have been turned into sculptures of art inspired by nature,” said Nikki Smith, Director of Community Engagement & Education. “This is not only an exhibition guests will not want to miss, but a summertime destination they will want to visit again and again.”
“Sean Kenney’s Nature POP!” is a nature exhibit produced by Imagine Exhibitions, an organization focused on the development of high-quality STEM/STEAM content within their traveling exhibitions. Inspired by the Pop art movement, “Nature POP!” plays on that movement’s principles by blurring the boundaries between austere and the everyday, and draws from a belief that everything is interconnected. Blending art, science, and innovation, the larger-than-life sculptures in Nature POP! invite us to not only admire the artistry and engineering, but to consider: just as LEGO bricks interconnect, how is everything in nature interconnected?
What Else Is There to Do While the Exhibit is on Display?
Visitors are encouraged to embrace their creative side and make memories with these colorful sculptures through daily activities, art projects, tours and special events. These include activities such as mega building zones, interactive STEAM stations, a digital scavenger hunt where you can enter your photos for a chance to win fun prizes throughout the summer, and Nature Pop! postcards that can be colored by young visitors! Visit the Nature Pop! webpage to learn more about each sculpture and the fun activities planned all summer long.
