Botanica Announces Drive-Thru & Walk-Thru Illuminations Events This Holiday Season

This article is sponsored by Botanica, The Wichita Gardens.

Botanica announced an exciting addition to Illuminations this year: an all-new, drive-thru version of the popular holiday event. Without leaving their cars, visitors enjoy a parking lot parade of lights and motion set to holiday music.

Inside the Wichita Gardens, visitors will find extra space and other innovative accommodations for social distancing in the traditional, walk-thru setting. Time-slotted tickets to both the walk-thru and drive-thru versions of the event must be purchased online in advance.

Tickets to each event must be purchase separately, and online ticket sales are now open!

Drive-thru or Walk-thru

The Illuminations drive-thru is a brand new part of this awesome event and one that Wichitans are sure to love. In addition to being a great way to avoid the crowd, it is also an option that people with mobility concerns may really appreciate. The parking lot party is a great way to load up toddlers or elderly grandparents and celebrate the holidays with less hassle. Leave the wheelchairs or strollers in the trunk and stay seated in your car.

Illuminations kicks off November 14th with limited attendance and online ticket sales. For those who prefer a walk inside, attendance is limited with time-slotted, online only ticket sales to maintain manageable crowd sizes. Pick the option that works best for your family or enjoy them both. Whether you walk or drive through, you’ll enjoy the view!

How to Purchase Tickets

For the drive-thru event, cars enter the Botanica parking lot from Murdock with tickets to the light show pre-purchased online. Guests parade past fan favorites from familiar to all-new displays. Walkable parking for the in-garden portion of the event is provided near the south entrance on Sims Park Drive. Tickets for all Illuminations events must be purchased online.

The Illuminations drive-thru is Botanica’s best effort to make something new and improved out of the restrictions and changes coming our way this year. The Botanica team is excited to share it and truly hopes it is a moment of joy in your holiday season. Keeping staff, volunteers and guests safe is the top priority. These family-friendly events are designed to share hopefulness and cheer with the Wichita community.

The Khicha Family Carousel is open during Illuminations at 50% capacity with sanitizing between each ride. Carousel tickets must also be purchased online and coincide with the same ticketed time slot to Illuminations. Throughout Botanica’s 20-acre gardens, hand sanitizing stations, surface cleaning and other efforts work to ensure visits are safe and enjoyable.

Guests must wear a mask in the Gardens if possible.
