Location: 650 N. Seneca 
Hours: Closed to the public between the hours of midnight and 5am

Exploration Place & the Mid-American All Indian Center both offer nearby parking lots

The Keeper of the Plains is the most iconic spot in Wichita! This bronze statue stands at 44 feet tall where the Big Arkansas River and Little Arkansas River meet.

Gifted to the citizens of Wichita by its artist, Black Bear Bozen, in 1974, “The Keeper” has become synonymous with the city of Wichita. Click here for our favorite spots to get Keeper Merch and ICT Flag Swag!

Nightly Ring of Fire Lighting

The “Ring of Fire” burns every night for 15 minutes.It is not on during high winds, rain, inclement weather, if the river level is too high, or if something is too close to the burners.

Spring/Summer
9pm to 9:15pm

Fall/Winter
7pm to 7:15pm

The Wichita Troll

Just a quick walk from the Keeper, keen eyes can spot the Wichita troll hiding under a grate near the Westar Power Building. He’s a 7-foot scuplture that you have to see to believe!
