Need some help planning exciting activities that will keep your kids learning and entertained this summer? Dive into the City of Wichita’s Evolve Guide for a list of hundreds of classes, camps, activities, sports and more. Inside you’ll find everything Wichita Park & Recreation, the Wichita Public Library and CityArts has to offer this summer. If you need a little “me-time,” there’s plenty of options for adults too! Did we mention some activities are free?
In case you’re short on time, here’s how to sign up:
- Online – Visit wichita.gov/EVOLVE to learn more about the classes, view the schedules, and register online using Visa or MasterCard.
- Phone – Call the facility where the program is held and register by phone using Visa or MasterCard.
- In Person – Visit the facility you will attend and pay using cash, check, Visa, or MasterCard. Make sure to check the location’s hours of operation before you arrive.
The summer Evolve guide is conveniently grouped into several categories including:
- Active Adult
Cool off at our four new splash pads and six swimming pools (including five newly renovated pools). Purchase a daily admission, coupon book or pick up a season pass. Party packages and private pool rentals are available. Visit wichita.gov/aquatics for location information and other details.

Swimming lessons: Parent/tots, Tots, Youth and Adult.
Private and semi-private lessons are also offered.
Aquatics activities: Junior Lifeguard training, Competitive Swim Team, Aqua Aerobics and Lap Swimming.
Your tots will be begging to come back to these kid-approved classes and activities!
Books and Reading: Free virtual story times and Nursery Rhyme Time. Also make sure to sign up for the Wichita Public Library’s Tails and Tales Summer Reading program. It includes “The Baby Bookworm” for ages zero to two and “The Kids Read program” for ages three to eleven.
Sports: Little Sluggers, T-Ball Clinic, Sports of all Sorts, Soccer, Football, Boxing, Basketball, Martial Arts, Cheerleading, Gymnastics, Tiny Tumblers, Intro to Tennis, Ninja Warrior Fitness and more!
Visual and Performing Arts: Ballet & Tap, Tiny Dancers, Hip Hop, Little Artists, Music Makers and many others.
Kids can’t get enough of our action packed summer camps and classes!
Specialty Camps – Camo Camp, Animal Planet, Jedi Training, Junior Chef Boot Camp, Nerf Wars, Lego Mania, Messy Science, Mystery Theater, Animation, Gaming and Coding, Video Game Design and more!
Summer of Discovery – Kids will love the weekly field trips and swimming, along with a variety of sports, games, contests, crafts and onsite presenters. Sign up for one week or sign up for them all!
Summer Activity Camp – Kids in need of a half-day camp will have lots of fun at this Kansas Dept. of Health & Environment licensed camp. Scholarships available.
Summer Art Camp – Head over to CityArts for week-long art camps! Scholarships available.
Tails and Tales Summer Reading Program: Check out the Wichita Public Library’s summer reading program HERE.
Sports – Tennis, Basketball, Pickleball, Boxing, Acrobatics, Cheerleading, Gymnastics, Archery, Track and Field, Basketball, Golf and the list goes on!
Visual and Performing Arts: Ballet & Tap, Dance Team Prep, Cartooning Basics, Guitar Made Easy, Piano, Kiln Work: Glass Fusing, Photography, Drum Lessons and others.
