Pumpkins at the Park Event Returns | Waterfall Light Show, Pumpkin Trail & Forbidden Forest


October 2021 – Tanganyika’s Pumpkins at the Park event is returning this October and boasts to be better than ever as Wichita’s largest Halloween event. This event is fun for all ages, with most of the activities geared toward younger children. 

This event is held in October at Tanganyika Wildlife and offers a safe, family-friendly option for those looking for spooky fun (and non-spooky)! The park will be filled with themed shows, activities, games, characters, crafts, and more!


Every Saturday in October
Sign up for designated times, in 15 minute increments, between 5:30 and 6:45pm for entry. You can reserve your spot here. 


$20 per person 
$10 per toddler (ages 2 & under)

Activities for Kids 12 & Under

With a pumpkin trail full of activities, the younger crowd will enjoy this event. A few activities include for the kiddos ages 12 and younger to enjoy:

  • Trick or Treat Stations
  • Ghoulish Games – each child receives a punch card to participate in three games
  • Creepy Critters – kids can interact with some of Tanganyika’s little critters
  • Inflatable Obstacle Course 
  • Pumpkin Patch (kids can “pick pumpkins” for an additional charge)
  • Creepy Crafts 
  • Ride around on the “haunted hay ride”
  • Dr. Frankenstein’s Science Lab 
  • Waterfall Light Show to Spooky Music, runs every 20 minutes

Activities for the Older Kids 

The following are great options for the older kids, teens, adults, and young at heart!

  • 7 Minute Escape Rooms – anyone who escapes wins a free Dairy Queen ice cream cone
  • Dr. Frankenstein’s Science Lab 
  • Waterfall Light Show to Spooky Music, runs every 20 minutes
  • Cage Maze of Doom – this spooky activity is for teens and adults only
  • Zombie Task Force – older kids and teens use laser tag equipment for a 10 minute “zombie battle”
