Baseball is back in downtown Wichita with the Wichita Wind Surge. We’ve collected all the details and info you need to know before heading out to a ballgame with the kids!

Wichita Wind Surge Game with Kids | Everything You Need to Know

Berm seating

There are two areas of berm seating in the outfield. It is a natural grass hill, no assigned seating, and bring-your-own-blanket.

Cashless Pay

Riverfront Stadium is cashless. If you don’t have a credit or debit card, you can purchase loaded cards at the Readystation Cash-to-Card kiosks in the main Team Store and at Guest Services.

Clear Bag Policy

Riverfront enforces a clear bag policy. Clear bags must be not larger than 12″x6″x12″. Exceptions: single compartment diaper bags, clutches smaller than 4.5″x6.5″, and medical necessary devices. Never permitted: backpacks, printed-pattern plastic bags, fanny packs, purses, reusable grocery totes, mesh or straw bags, duffle bags, large totes, camera or binocular cases.

Wichita Wind SurgeConcessions

In addition to ballpark favorites, fans will find Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, a pretzel cart, pizza, ice cream, Dippin’ Dots, and beer and liquor stands.

Kids Club

Kids under twelve can join the Wichita Wind Surge Kids Club for special perks like free tickets to select games, a fast pass for Sunday base running, and more.

Kids Zone 

In center field, stop by the Kids Zone, presented by Credit Union of America, with free inflatable activities for kids including speed pitch and inflatable basketball.

Mother’s Lounge

Behind Section 10, next to Guest Services, you’ll find an area for breastfeeding moms who need a quieter place to nurse. [Thank you, Wichita Wind Surge!]

Parking

This interactive map lists Riverfront adjacent lots, garages, and their details. The City of Wichita also provides details about ADA parking and public transportation. 

Promotions

Game promotions and giveaways can be found online with the schedule. Freebies and theme nights will be listed like Thirsty Thursdays, Firework Fridays (firework show at every Friday night game), Military Discounts on Wednesdays for military and families, and more!

Restrooms

There is a Family Restroom beyond Left Field; standard bathrooms are behind Sections 3/4, 7/8, 13/14, 20, and Left Field.

Run the Bases

Kids ages 3 to 12 are invited to take the field and run the bases following the game on Sunday afternoons. Listen for PA announcements during the game with instructions on where to line up following the final out.

Team Store

For all your Wind Surge merch needs, the teams stores are located beyond Center Field (main*; next to the River Plaza entrance) and behind Section 7. The main Team Store is open Monday-Friday 10am-6pm, Saturdays 10am-2pm, and during home games.

Tickets

Kids 2 and under are free if they are lap sitting. Kids 3 and up (or younger children who need their own seat) do need a ticket. Tickets are delivered digitally. They can be printed at home or shown at the gate on your phone or in your virtual wallet. 

Video Board Announcements

You can purchase a special message to be displayed on the video board. Must be purchased more than 24 hours in advance.

Windy

Windy is a sky blue pegasus and the Wind Surge’s official mascot. Windy blew in with the Kansas and makes the perfect picture partner at a game or when spotted around town.

Wichita Wind Surge Extras

Wichita Wind Surge has provided fun extras for kids like exclusive Wind Surge coloring sheets, math, language arts, and science exercises, art videos.

Early impressions are that Riverfront Stadium is going to be a beloved venue for date nights, special outings, and making family memories for years to come.
