Sean Kenney’s Nature Connects®: Art Built with LEGO® Bricks
Nature Connects® is one of the largest projects by Sean Kenney, an American designer and artist who specializes in working with LEGO® toys. This tour, in particular, has toured across dozens of cities in Europe, North America, and Asia.
Kenney, along with his team of assistants, has built hundreds of unique, naturalistic sculptures using more than 3 million LEGO® bricks.
These sculptures have been displayed at botanical gardens, museums, and exhibitions in cities throughout the world. Other cities which will be displaying pieces from Nature Connects® this summer include Memphis, Kansas City, Richmond, Virginia, and Lisle, Illinois.
According to Kenney’s website, the Nature Connects® exhibition is designed to showcase that people and nature are “…interconnected in a delicate balance,” and that “people have a connection with nature… you are a part of nature.”
The exhibition is intended to illustrate Kenney’s artistic interpretation of many different educational topics, including:
● Animal endangerment
● The balance of our ecosystem
● Mankind’s relationship with nature
