The SCZ Back-To-School Bash Will Take Place On Saturday, August 3
Pencil it into your calendar now! The Sedgwick County Zoo will be open from 8:30 AM to 5 PM on Saturday, August 3 – and admission will be $3 for zoo visitors of all ages throughout the entire day. Members, of course, always get in for free with their membership card and their photo ID.
Not only is this a great day to celebrate with your family, but it also provides you with an opportunity to help those who are in need in our local community. We’ll be collecting school supplies which we can donate to those in Wichita who may be struggling to get what they need for the upcoming school year.
So whether you bring backpacks, notebooks, pens and pencils, folders, or any other school supplies, we would be glad to accept them. You can drop your school supplies off on your way into the zoo – so please consider bringing anything you don’t need to help our local community.
Plan For Large Crowds – The Back-To-School Bash Is Always Packed!
The SCZ Back-To-School Bash is a great opportunity to see all of our exhibits – we have more than 3,000 individual animals of more than 400 species, all separated into separate, unique habitats.
If you’ve never been to the Sedgwick County Zoo, or it’s been a while since you and your little ones have explored our exhibits, like the Cessna Penguin Cove or the Downing Gorilla Forest, now is the perfect time to attend – and save on admission!
This event is popular with many families in Wichita, so we recommend coming early, if possible. Last year’s attendance was more than 10,000, so expect large crowds. If the main parking lots become full, you will be able to park in our overflow area, in the grass lot located north of the Zoo.
