Spring Break Camps are the perfect way to keep kids engaged while school is out. Thankfully, Wichita has plenty to offer to keep all them thoroughly entertained. 


The Academy at MTWichita

Want a unique spring break activity? The Academy at MTWichita is offering a one-day Spring Break: Camp Musical on March 21st. Kids aged 6-10 will learn songs and act scenes from Broadway and movies. Enjoy acting games, choreography and designing a show poster. If you want to give your child an enriching experience this spring break, this is for you! 

Art Park Spring Break Camp

Staying home for spring break? Don’t let the kids drive you nuts – send them to us! We have half day and full day options available with lots of fun projects planned including printmaking, junk art flowers, clay day, cardboard sculpture and Lego challenges. Weather permitting we also play on our awesome playground outside! They will come home exhausted from all the creative activities and afternoon specials such as dance, PE and music. Exploration Place

Deep Sea Hunter Spring Break Camp is an immersive dive into the ocean’s deepest mysteries! Get ready for an adventure filled with thrilling activities and fascinating discoveries.

Campers will:

  • Explore the lives and hunting strategies of top predators like Orcas, Tylosaurus, Xiphactinus, Megalodon and their prey.
  • Investigate sunken ships and famous shipwrecks, learn about ecosystems around these wrecks and try penny electroplating to create your own treasures.
  • Discover the Mariana Trench, identify deep-sea species and learn about ocean creatures that use camouflage.
  • Engage with Cartesian divers, oxygen tanks and scuba gear in hands-on activities. Watch Australian Zoom footage to see marine life in action, including a special visit to the Sharks Dome.
  • Study various types of sharks such and understand their role in the ocean ecosystem.

Girl Scouts: Enchanted Spring Break

Get ready for magical days of art, sisterhood and fun as we explore the worlds of four enchanted princesses. You can join us for all four days or pick and choose the days that work around your Spring Break plans. Weave fairytale fabric art like Aurora, practice outdoor skills like Raya, create a leather-bound book like Belle and plant a charming fairy pot garden like Thumbelina.

Individual days for $40 per day or the full four-day session for $150. Earn Craft and Tinker badge (provided).

MARK ARTS 

This fun and immersive youth art camp will allow creativity to bloom just like the flowers in spring! This camp invites young artists to explore the beautiful connection between nature and art and transform them into something unique. Artists will draw inspiration from the world around them to create their own vibrant, nature-inspired masterpieces with different art media and natural objects as they learn new concepts. Students will walk away with 7 projects in all different mediums including clay, painting, printmaking, drawing, and more!

Wichita Parks and Rec Camp Kids Konnection

No School? No Problem! Don’t stress about those in-service days. Kids Konnection is a great camp filled with a variety of activities including sports, games, contests, arts & crafts, and special events.

This camp is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and open to children ages 6-12 in a 1:15 staff to child ratio setting.

YMCA

The Greater Wichita YMCA’s Child Care and Camp Branch offers BREAK CAMP during longer, scheduled school closures. Parents can keep their schedules and kids can spend time with friends and peers with certified child care staff overseeing educational, fun, inclusive activities with a healthy breakfast and afternoon snack provided (kids must bring lunch daily).

Any student 5-12-years-old, enrolled in Kindergarten and above at ANY school, can participate in BREAK CAMP at ANY location but advanced registration (including KEY Academy participants) is required. Spring Break Club is offered 3/14, 3/17-3/21. Program sites vary by date.

Sedgwick County Zoo

Let the kids have fun, make new friends, and keep learning during spring break! Spring Fling is an all-day, five-day program engaging students with animals and nature with classroom experiments and field lessons as well as having fun with peers. WOW (Wonders of Wildlife) days give kids the opportunity to learn about the Zoo’s animals in fun and innovative ways.

Kids should bring a sack lunch. Please dress for the weather. Closed-toe shoes are required.

Age 6-12 years in grades Kindergarten through 5th

Monday, March 17 through Friday, March 21, 2025

Ticket sales end on Friday, March 14 at 12 noon.

Early drop-off and late pick-up options are available as WOW Before Care and WOW After Care. Before Care and After Care must be purchased in the same transaction as WOW Spring Fling.

Each child is required to have a ticket for the five-day class. No partial tickets will be sold.

  1. hi, just a heads up but Xtreme Racing & Entertainment Wichita is permanently closed so it you might want to update this list a little.

  2. Another camp to consider is CityArts has a Spring break camp. CityArts Art Camps are great for children 6-15 who enjoy art and want to explore new mediums! Each day the students will work with a variety of art methods like drawing, painting, sculpture, clay, photography, printmaking and more. Wear clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting messy in, bring snacks, lunch, and a reusable water bottle and be ready to make new friends while learning about the arts. Camp runs from 9:00-4:00 with early drop-off beginning at 8:00 a.m. and late pickup until 5:30 p.m.

    CityArts is a licensed childcare facility as a School Age Program through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to give families access to high-quality, affordable childcare. Our mission is to empower youth to gain life skills through the arts to encourage positive risk-taking, promote leadership development, and build character pathways through an art camp experience.
