Wichita, Kansas — Thomas the Train and Friends Explore the Rails at Exploration Place this fall and winter! Families can enjoy this traveling exhibit, included with admission to Exploration Place, beginning September 23, 2022 – January 8, 2023.
In this traveling exhibit geared toward ages 2-7, children help Thomas and his friends solve a variety of STEM-focused and interactive challenges. They can engage in simple sorting and shape identification to more complex engineering obstacles like completing a train track with different levels of elevation.
These interactive opportunities encourage asking questions, identifying problems, and designing creative solutions. A few of the STEM focused opportunities include:
- Climbing in and exploring Thomas the Train’s inner workings
- Fixing Percy’s wobbly wheel by removing and replacing parts and experimenting with tool combinations
- Moving and loading coal into Percy’s coal box and filling his tank with water from a water tower
- Suiting up as a conductor and selling train tickets
- And more!
