Register NOW for the 48th Annual Turkey Trot in Wichita

Sponsored by the Wichita Sports Commission.

It’s the tradition time of year, and one of Wichita’s holiday traditions is the Honeysuckle White Wichita Turkey Trot, held annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving (hint: keep reading to find out about the free turkeys!). Whether you run for time, dress up as turkeys with your friends, or bring out the whole family, the Turkey Trot is a great way to kick off Thanksgiving week.

48th Annual Turkey Trot

This year’s Turkey Trot, held on November 18th at Century II, will be the 48th Annual Turkey Trot in Wichita.

One of the things that makes the race unique is the course lengths: trotters can choose from a two-mile or 10-mile course, instead of the traditional 5k/10k races.

There’s even a Tiny Turkey Trot for kids 6 and under, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield, that has its own unique length – 250 feet.

Kids in the Tiny Trot get a medal, and their own short-sleeve turkey shirt to decorate, plus they get to meet some of their favorite local mascots.

Did Someboday Say “Free Turkeys”?

Ok, are you still reading to find out about the free turkeys? We got you! The first 2300 runners in the 2 mile or 10 mile races get a certificate for up to $35 towards a Honeysuckle White turkey, no catch!

If turkey’s not your thing, all runners also get a long-sleeved t-shirt and a medal, and the Kansas Food Bank will be on-site at packet pickup and on race day to take any unwanted turkey coupons to distribute to community members in need.

Don’t Forget Your Donation!

Another Turkey Trot tradition: peanut butter. For years, runners have brought sealed jars of peanut butter to donate to the Food Bank.

Any non-perishable items are welcome, but if you really want to lean in to the tradition… make it peanut butter (your choice of creamy or crunchy!).

Grab your whole family, friends or rafter (group of turkeys) and be a part of the 48th Annual Honeysuckle White Wichita Turkey Trot on Saturday, November 18th!
