KS Dept of Ed is delaying implementation of the State Dyslexia Recommendations for screening accepted in November 2019. Kansas students will now wait even longer to get what science & The National Reading Panel shows works for literacy instruction for ALL students. Kumon is a structured, supplemental math and reading program which guides students from counting to calculus in the Math program and from learning letter sounds to reading high school-level literary text in the Reading program. Through individualized instruction, carefully planned by the instructor, students progress step-by-logical step through the program to build a solid grasp of math and reading while also building critical thinking skills and the mindset to learn new materials independently. Students complete daily assignments that take about 30-minutes per subject in two sessions per week at the Center and the other five days at home. Each worksheet teaches a lesson that’s one small step more advanced than the lesson before so students progress smoothly and gain confidence with each new success.

R.E.A.D. Redefined is an organization that works with students regardless of location. We are a team of dyslexia specialists who provide systematic, cumulative, explicit, and diagnostic virtual reading intervention for students who are struggling with reading, writing, and spelling.
We also work with districts and physicians to provide them with the how-to knowledge of identifing the 1-in-5 students that are dyslexic.
We have partnered with Baker and Newman University to provide graduate credit to districts and teachers. As their first employee, the business owners really invested in Kirsten and taught her the “tools of the trade” so to speak. She was often trusted to run their store while they were out-of-town on weekends. Kirsten graduated from Andover Central HS in 2005 and moved to Lincoln, NE to earn her degree in Business Management. The small business passion carried on with her and she would come back to Kansas to work at the Vic’s Popcorn shop during her school breaks from college as often as possible.
She asked the owners of Vic’s at a young age that if they were ever looking to sell the store, to notify her first. Sure enough, 10 years later, they were ready to sell and gave her a call. During those 10 years, her mind was constantly generating ideas on how she could open her very own popcorn company. With the help of her creative family members, The Popcorner was created. We are proud to continue the popcorn tradition under this new brand in the same very location where Kirsten sparked her passion. Kirsten and her family are very excited to announce the opening of their second store on the west side of town which will open in the fall of 2016.
