3 Easy & Budget-Friendly Fall Decor Ideas

In what feels like the longest year ever, I’m more than ready to round the corner into fall and say see ya to 2020 in a few short months. One of my favorite things about fall is digging out all the pumpkin and harvest decor and transitioning away from my summer decorating. My kids love helping with this, too! Because buying all new pieces each year is beyond most people’s budgets, I have found that it’s fun to collect fall decor that I can reuse each year while mixing that with some budget-friendly purchases.

Pillow Power

A new throw pillow or blanket can make a big impact when combined with items you already have at home. A few seasonal pillows can freshen up your couch instantly. I found mine at Kirkland’s where I bought two for around $35. You may consider purchasing pillow covers that are placed over your existing pillows so you can quickly change out your look by replacing the cover. I also love buffalo plaid print for this time of year, so I combined a blanket I found on Amazon in that print with a basket I already owned. There is more to creating a seasonal-themed basket than simply stuffing a blanket in there, so if you’re like me and didn’t know that until well into your 30s, there are actually instructions on how to style a fall basket.

Letterboard Magic

I like to use a letter board to display fall-themed quotes or sayings. There are so many letter board ideas on Pinterest. Whether you want to add a little inspiration, humor or fall-themed excitement, these changeable boards can be found at Target (or many other retailers) for less than $20. Having a few color options is helpful to coordinate with your color scheme. I purchased a black framed and gold framed letterboard so I have the option to switch them out based on which looks best with my other items.

Try A Table Runner

Want to spruce up your table for a holiday display? Invest in several table runners or make one yourself. These simple table decorations add color and texture to your table. Whether you have a traditional dining table or a smaller pub table, pick something that compliments the size and shape of your table. I found my favorite fall table runner at HomeGoods last year. It coordinates perfectly with a simple arrangement of blue and silver pumpkins. My mother-in-law has made a variety of table runners for me in different colors and patterns and I have found this is one of the easiest ways to change the look of your home.

Even if you’re on a budget, it’s easy to bring the feeling of fall into your home! A few simple additions will help your living space feel cozy and stylish.
