17 Not-So-Traditional Thanksgiving Recipes to Spice Up Your Holiday Spread

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  Thanksgiving is the opening even to the holiday season. It is a time for us to slow down and gather with family and friends to reflect on all of the blessings we have been given.  The perfect time to give thanks for the lessons we have learned over the past year, prepare our hearts and minds before the end of year celebrations that are about to ensue.  Thanksgiving is the perfect time to remember that there is always room at the table for one more.

Now don’t get me wrong I am also here for the food.  In my family food is its own love language and Thanksgiving is like the Superbowl of food.  So, we go big.  There are always two turkeys, an obscene amount of side dishes and a plethora of sweets.  I mean there isn’t a chance you will leave the table unsatisfied.  With our love of food, it also means that you will find your tried and true Thanksgiving favorites on the table, but you will also find some more adventurous options to tempt your tastebuds.  Here are a few of our go to favorites and a few that may be in the rotation this coming year.
