This year Open Streets ICT is taking extra precautions due to COVID-19 and will only be allowing businesses directly on the Douglas route and food trucks to register as vendors. Social distancing is highly recommended and we encourage everyone to wear masks when this cannot be achieved.

Reasons to attend Open Streets ICT with your family:

 1. There’s So Much To Do

The Activity Hubs are the perfect places to anchor your Open Streets ICT adventure. Whether you’re into live music, food and drinks, competitive games, fitness classes, or kid favorites like face painting.

2. Tradition

Dragging Douglas has been a Wichita pastime for generations. During Open Streets ICT you won’t be joining the tradition from your hot rod, but in a whole new way. You have over four miles of mostly open road to explore by foot, bike, wagon, stroller, scooter, you name it! Adults, kids, and on-leash pets can all join in on making new memories on the Douglas Avenue thoroughfare enjoying a recent renaissance.

3. Community Building

Businesses, churches, civic groups, and community organizations are coming together to put on Open Streets ICT. They need us, the citizens, to come out and engage with each other and our city to make the event a success. Seeing the streets in a novel way and interacting with each other through the awesome planned activities promises to be fun for the whole family. And, when it becomes a regular event you’ll want to say you walked, biked, bounced, ate, or played through the first one.

We’ll see you on the streets!
