U.S. Figure Skating Championships | January 20-26, 2025

Wichita is gearing up to make history by hosting the 2025 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships for the first time in Wichita and in the state of Kansas! Happening from January 20-26, 2025, at INTRUST Bank Arena, this event is the perfect winter activity for Wichita area families to enjoy together while supporting our community!

For the first time ever, Wichita and the state of Kansas will welcome the nation’s top figure skating competition. This historic event, brought to our city by Visit Wichita, offers a rare opportunity to witness current and future Olympians compete up close. Imagine the thrill of cheering on athletes who will represent Team USA at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.

National champions will be crowned in women’s, men’s, pairs, and ice dance events across junior and senior levels. Even novice pairs and ice dance will take center stage, showcasing rising stars in the sport. It’s a must-see experience that will inspire skaters and fans of all ages.

Off-Ice Activities for the Whole Family

But the excitement isn’t limited to the ice. The championships will feature a variety of off-ice activities for attendees. The exclusive Boitano’s Lounge, hosted by Olympic Champion Brian Boitano, is a highlight. Families can enjoy meet-and-greet opportunities with current and former athletes while savoring tasty food and curated cocktails for the adults.

Another can’t-miss event is the U.S. Figure Skating SkateFest, taking place on Saturday, January 11, at the Wichita Ice Center. Sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield Kansas and held in partnership with Visit Wichita and the Boys & Girls Club, SkateFest offers participants the chance to learn to skate and meet 2014 Olympic Champion Gracie Gold.

Athletes to Watch 

Championship Women *All have won a U.S. Title

Vying for their first Olympics:

Amber Glenn – has the second-highest senior score in the world this season. She is undefeated on this season so far and became the first U.S. woman to win the Grand Prix Final since 2010. She is the 2024 U.S. Champion as well as the 2024 Grand Prix Final Champion. She is competing to make it on her first Olympic team.
Isabeau Levito – 2023 U.S. Champion. 2024 World silver medalist. She is competing to make it on her first Olympic team.

Olympians:

Alysa Liu – 2022 Olympian, 2022 World bronze medalist. She won U.S. titles in 2019 and 2020.
Bradie Tennell – 2018 Olympian, 2018 and 2021 U.S. Champion

Championship Men

Ilia Malinin – a two-time reigning U.S. Champion and the 2024 World Champion. Nicknamed the “Quad God,” Ilia is the first athlete in the world to successfully land a fully rotated quadruple Axel in competition.
Jason Brown – 2014, 2022 Olympian. Jason took home the Olympic team Event Bronze in 2014. He is a 2015 U.S. Champion.

Championship Pairs:

Ellie Kam and Danny O’Shea – 2024 U.S. Champions
Alisa Efimova and Misha Mitrofanov – 2024 U.S. Silver medalists

Championship Ice Dance:

Madison Chock and Evan Bates – 2022 Olympic team event gold medalists, 2023 and 2024 World Champions, Five-time U.S. Champions. This pair (married just this past summer) will compete to defend their title at the Championships in Wichita.
Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko – 2024 U.S. Silver medalists

Junior Women:

Sophie Joline von Felten – Became the first junior woman to land a triple Axel at the U.S. Championships in 2024

Junior Men:

Patrick Blackwell – Took 2nd place at the 2024 Junior Grand Prix in the Czech Republic

Junior Pairs:

Olivia Flores and Luke Wang – 2024 U.S. Junior Champions and 2024 World Junior silver medalists. This pair also won Silver at the 2024 Grand Prix Final.

Junior Ice Dance:

Elliana Peal and Ethan Peal – 2022 and 2024 U.S. Junior bronze medalists. They are siblings.
