Child care isn’t a decision parents take lightly.
- Is it a safe and licensed environment?
- Are the teachers experienced and caring?
- Is the location convenient for drop off and pick up?
- Is the curriculum focused on what little ones really need?
There are a lot of questions parents ask before entrusting child care providers with what matters most – their children’s well-being. Fortunately, the Greater Wichita YMCA has answers you can trust.
As the largest licensed child care provider in the area, the Y makes sure families receive the highest quality early learning experience that prioritizes the healthy development of their children, ages two weeks through their start of school. The availability of financial assistance means that every family has access to our services.
With Y child care programs offered at a network of locations around the Wichita area, exceptional support for families is within reach no matter where you live.
- Y Early Learning Centers (ymcawichita.org/elc), located within the Andover, East and South Y branches, provide children with a mixture of learning, social and physical activities that holistically approach education.
- Y Child Development Centers (ymcawichita.org/cdc) are hosted at seven area high schools in partnership with Wichita Public Schools. Our CDCs foster a warm “extended” family atmosphere in which children feel secure, comfortable and important as they learn critical social, emotional and cognitive skills.
- The Y’s KEY Academy before- and after-school program (ymcawichita.org/KEY) at select elementary schools in surrounding school districts gives older children in kindergarten through age 12 a place to build friendships through active play and collaboration on fun, engaging projects.
The Y knows how important your children are to you and that is why we go above and beyond to meet your individual needs. We invite anyone who is interested in learning more about our child care offerings to visit us online at ymcawichita.org/childcare or call 316-264-1610.
There’s more than one way to be involved in our child care program … we’re also looking for people like you who are passionate about making a difference in children’s lives to join our team.
Our wide range of child care positions and work schedules at ELCs, CDCs and KEY Academy offer flexibility and the potential for advancement into other roles within the Y. Benefits include a Y membership, retirement program and child care.
