Built for Kids, Close to Home: Children’s Mercy Expands Access to Pediatric Care in Wichita

For more than 125 years, Children’s Mercy has been taking care of kids, and since 2012, Children’s Mercy Wichita has been providing exceptional care to more than 10,000 pediatric patients in the region.

Kids require specialized care that can only be provided by doctors, nurses and specialists trained in pediatrics. That’s why we’re so excited to expand our services in Wichita, with a new multi-specialty ambulatory clinic, bringing more world-class care closer to home.

The new 18,000-square-foot facility will be located at the intersection of North Greenwich Road and East 28th Street N, and is designed to optimize space and foster collaboration among health care professionals.

Growing with Wichita

For many parents, traveling long distances for specialized pediatric care can be stressful and time-consuming. This new clinic aims to alleviate that burden by providing comprehensive care close to home for Wichita families.

As Alejandro Quiroga, MD, MBA, CEO & President of Children’s Mercy Kansas City, stated, “We are committed to caring for kids close to home – it reduces family stress, saves time and ensures continuity of care with regular health care providers, which leads to better health outcomes and a more positive experience.”

Expanded Services for Wichita Kids

The new clinic will offer a wide range of specialty services, both in-person and through telemedicine. This means whether your child needs cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology or other specialized care, you can access these services without the need for extensive travel. The clinic’s design will also allow for future expansion, ensuring the clinic can continue to meet the growing needs of the community.

The new Children’s Mercy Wichita location is expected to open in Summer 2026. This expansion is not just about a new building; it’s about enhancing the health and wellbeing of all children.

As Dr. Mary Ann Queen, MD, FAAP, Children’s Mercy Vice President and Associate Chief Medical Officer for Regional and Outreach Services, mentioned, “We’re thrilled to expand our ability to deliver exceptional clinical care to more children and families in the region.”

What This Means for Wichita Moms

For parents in Wichita, this expansion means peace of mind. Knowing that nationally ranked pediatric care is just around the corner can make a world of difference. It means fewer long drives, less time away from home and more time focusing on what truly matters – the health and happiness of your children.
