WMB Fit Mom New Year Challenge :: Results

Tug O War

They say it takes 21 days to form a habit and that’s exactly what our WMB Fit Mom New Year Challenge participants did during the month of January! We were tasked with getting on the track to a healthier lifestyle by participating in the Genesis G60 Boot Camp 2-3 times per week as well as check out the rest of the boundless amenities that Genesis Health Clubs has to offer.

From the beginning, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy but we were up for a challenge!  Pushing ourselves through John and Zoe’s G60 Boot Camp, shaking our groove thang in Devin’s Group Groove class and sweating like crazy in All American Training – we were out to prove that we not only WANTED to make a change but that we COULD!

The Challenge Winners

At the end of the challenge, it’s safe to say that we definitely saw changes in our bodies and our energy. Some success stories were on the scale, some measured by the inches and some simply by our energy level. After 4 weeks of hard work, Caroline was our first place winner, losing 13 pounds during the WMB Fit Moms New Year Challenge. Here’s what Caroline had to say about her experience:

WMB :: What was your favorite part about the challenge?

C :: My favorite part was having such a great group of women to work out with! Getting to the gym is more than half the battle so being accountable to the group and challenge was so helpful.

WMB :: We know you LOOK different (congrats on the 13 pound weight loss!) but do you FEEL different?

C :: I feel great – but I’m excited to continue working on my health. It’s hard to form a habit and easy to let life get in the way – especially staying home with two young kids and running my own small business. My resting heart rate went down 8bpm during the course of the challenge so I know I’m not just lighter, but healthier too. Thanks FitBit!

WMB :: Do you feel like you pushed yourself harder in the G60 Boot Camp than you would have on your own?

C :: I love the boot camp setting! There is variety and so many people to keep you moving. John is a great motivator too – always pushing you to get one more rep.

WMB :: From your experience, if someone was new to exercise, why do you think the G60 Boot Camp would appeal to them?

C :: I think the boot camp is great for someone new to working out. You can modify exercises as needed and really work at your own pace.

WMB :: Why would you recommend Genesis and the G60 Boot Camp to other busy moms?

C :: I would absolutely recommend the boot camp and Genesis overall to busy moms. If I’m going to take an hour+ away from my family and work to exercise, I want to work as hard in that one hour as possible because I don’t have more time to give!

Genesis Finale

Congratulations to all of our moms that participated and completed the challenge. Together, our 12 moms that weighed in on the final night lost nearly 40 pounds. They hit the gym hard, cut back on the vino during dinner and put the work in to get results. They were at Boot Camp 2-3 times per week. When you consider price of a gym membership, Genesis really offers a lot of options, no matter what type of exercise gets you motivated. They offer Boot Camp, All American Training (heart-rate based training), spin classes, yoga, barre classes – the list goes on and on.

WMB Special: Now through the end of February, mention WMB and receive 10% off of a Premiere membership PLUS 10 free nursery visits AND a month of G60 Boot Camp for FREE. Be sure to let them know that WMB sent you when you call. Genesis offers a large selection of group fitness classes that can fit into any schedule! For a full class schedule at Rock Road, click here.
