In addition to the number of traditional shops (Daylight Donuts, LaMar’s, Dunkin Donuts, and Krispy Kreme), gourmet and specialty donuts are a fixture around town. If your family is sweet toothed like mine you’ll want to visit any and all of these donut shops in Wichita. As a bonus I’ve included my pick for an awesome nearby park to expend some of the extra sugar you’re sure to take in.
The Donut Whole
1720 E. Douglas Avenue
It is undisputed that The Donut Whole brought the glamour donut craze to Wichita. They still serve up over forty varieties of unique and delicious topped cake donuts daily at their Douglas Design District location.
Downtown: Burn off that extra energy at Hyde Park
Features: playground, picnic areas, green space.
Hungry Bunny is a virtual donut shop, located in Derby, KS. Each donut is baked with love and premium ingredients. They are egg-free, dairy-free, and cruelty-free. View their menu here.
Their website is still under construction, so for now you can place orders through their Facebook page (and don’t forget to follow along on Instagram!). Orders can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. for a flat-rate $50 fee.
7010 W. 21st St. N.
Hurts Donut offers whimsically decorated and flavored donuts at their Wichita locations and also from their popular donut ambulance throughout south central Kansas. They also offer event for kids to decorate their own donut creations.

Features: multiple playgrounds, bike/walking paths, fishing and horseshoes/bocce.
1068 N. Waco Ave.
Jaurez Bakery is home to freshly baked Mexican pastries, sweet breads, and donuts. The shop is a feast for the senses, featuring items not readily found at other area bakeries.

Features: a playground, Kansas Wildlife Exhibit, splash park, and walking paths.

A long-time west side favorite, at Paradise you’ll discover generously sized favorites like twists, bear claws and long johns alongside creatively topped cake and raised donuts. Grab a cup of coffee and you’ve got the perfect start to your morning or afternoon pick-me-up!
