Wichita, Kansas — One of Wichita’s favorite holiday traditions is back in person this year, Gingerbread Village returns this winter to Exploration Place! The beloved event – a partnership between Exploration Place and the Assistance League of Wichita – will take place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 13.
Gingerbread Village guests will receive a gingerbread house kit for each person. Each kit contains precut graham cracker pieces, icing and an array of candy for guests to use as they strategize, engineer, craft and build the ultimate sweet escape. This day is one that children will remember long after the last piece of candy has been plucked off of the rooftops of their gingerbread creations.
Visitors can also shop at the bake sale and this year, there is the option to reserve a room to avoid the hustle and bustle and have a private experience for your party. Two rooms that can accommodate 30 guests each are available for rental. To reserve your private decorating room call 316-660-0600 and ask for Sydney.

Assistance League of Wichita is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that is transforming lives and strengthening our community through philanthropic programs in Wichita. Member volunteers are dedicated to ongoing support and a long-term presence in the community through hands-on involvement and innovative philanthropic programs, including Operation School Bell (school clothing and hygiene items for children in need), scholarships, sexual assault survivor kids and Bear Hugs (teddy bears, totes and journals to child victims of violence.
