Best Ways to Help Andover Tornado Victims Right Now

After last Friday’s tornado hit Andover, KS, the Wichita Mom community came out of the woodwork looking for ways to help and provide assistance. We are truly heartbroken for those who lost homes or experienced damage of any kind due to the storm, and we are eager like so many others to help!

Below is what we know so far and will continue to update this list as information comes in. For now, the very best way to provide assistance is through cash donations. Many are eager to donate physical items like clothes (and of course anything is appreciated), however, we have been told cash is really the most helpful for victims right now.

If you are a victim of the Andover Tornado, The United Way of the Plains has mobilized efforts in supporting you! You can find all of the information you need right here: United Way of the Plains Support for Andover Tornado Victims.

Cash Donations **Most Needed

The state of Kansas has reviewed the City of Andover damage numbers and found that the April 29 tornado will not meet the levels required for the governor to request Individual Assistance through FEMA.

The City will continue to look for other ways to bring help into the area, the best pathway to support the victims of this tornado is through financial donations to the United Way.

Our good friends at The United Way of the Plains has set up a fund to assist with long term recovery efforts after natural disasters:
