Illuminations Experience Returns to Botanica

Create lasting memories and new traditions with friends and loved ones at the brightest place in Kansas! Botanica’s annual holiday light show, Illuminations, will take place nightly from November 29 – January 4.

Ticket time slots are available at 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm, 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm.

If a light show is on your list of things to do this winter, don’t miss Illuminations! There are over two million lights incorporated into several magical light displays for this year. Guests can experience the holiday glow from the 62-foot Christmas tree programmed with festive images and set to holiday music. It is one of the largest branched tree displays in the Midwest region.

Experience The Grand Tree Lighting at Botanica!

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, Botanica will be hosting The Grand Tree Lighting. Sponsored by Lexus of Wichita and Scheels, the event lasts from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. 

At exactly 7:00 pm, witness the lighting of Botanica’s breathtaking 62-foot Grand Tree, a marvel of holiday imagery and music, and the largest holiday branched tree display in Wichita!

During the event, guests will explore the full magic of Illuminations before its public opening, including a sparkling stroll through the Butterfly House, a gilded holiday haven in the Shakespeare Garden, and returning favorites like the whimsical Funky Tree and Santa’s Village, complete with a festive holiday train.

Special holiday entertainment by the Studio Singers children’s choir on the Dr. David and Mickey Brown Grand Lawn adds even more holiday spirit, and for one night only, the “one-way walking path” is lifted, giving guests the freedom to wander the gardens in any direction.

What’s Happening During Illuminations?

Wander through our NEW one-of-a-kind vibrant butterfly installation located in the Butterfly House, explore our enchanted 62-foot Christmas tree that dances to holiday tunes, the holiday train express, and our very own land of miniatures full of holiday flare, and take in light displays around every corner. 

Fun for All Ages

Before the night ends, hop on the Khicha Family Carousel for a classic ride, swing by to see Santa and drop off your letter, and pick up special edition Illuminations apparel! Santa will be at Illuminations through December 23. Warm up with hot cocoa, delicious snacks, and treats for every age from our concessions, including adult beverages.

Golf Cart Tours

Don’t feel like walking or have someone in your party with mobility issues? See Illuminations in style with a personalized golf cart tour! You and four of your family or friends can ride in a golf cart for a tour of the lights.

Tours are available beginning November 18th on a limited basis. Tours begin at 5:00 pm and are about 45 minutes in length. They cost $125 for up to 5 guests; $100 minimum per golf cart and admission into Illuminations is included. The tour includes a refreshing beverage and a tasty treat! Admission to Illuminations

Admission to Illuminations is $16 for non-member adults, $13 for member adults, $10 ages 3-12, and free for children 2 and under.

Tickets must be purchased prior to the event online. Walk-in tickets will not be available or accepted. Visit on a weekend for a spirited experience! For a calmer vibe, weeknights are a great option.

Even after you’ve met Santa and been awed by the light shows, there is still plenty to see at Botanica. The 20 acres of the ever-changing botanical wonderland houses more than 30 themed areas and over 4,000 plant species. As guests wind through the gardens, they will also discover additional gems.
