Illuminations Experience Returns to Botanica

Create lasting memories and new traditions with friends and loved ones at the brightest place in Kansas! Botanica’s annual holiday light show, Illuminations, will take place nightly from November 24th – December 30th.

Ticket time slots are available at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

If a light show is on your list of things to do this winter, don’t miss Illuminations! There are over two million lights incorporated into several magical light displays for this year. Guests can experience the holiday glow from the 62-foot Christmas tree programmed with festive images and set to holiday music. It is one of the largest branched tree displays in the Midwest region.

Tickets must be purchased in advance online & will not be sold at the door.


Experience Botanica’s First Annual Tree Lighting!

On Friday, November 17th, 2023, Botanica will be hosting their first annual tree lighting event. Sponsored by Lexus of Wichita and Scheels, the event lasts from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. 

The tree will be lit at 7:00 p.m. During the event, each guest will receive 4 activity tickets. Redeem tickets for carousel rides, popcorn, hot cocoa, Clydesdale carriage rides, cookie decorating, a printed picture with Santa and more!

This magical event will also feature special holiday entertainment by Discord Illusions and Injoy Fountain Academy. This special preview evening provides an enjoyable and less-crowded experience. Tickets are limited and must be purchased online in advance, so get them before they’re gone!


What’s Happening During Illuminations?

The new Candyland walk-through is decorated with a lit storybook gingerbread house and candy all aglow. All the favorite Illuminations features will also still be viewable. This includes displays such as the Funky Tree, the Meadow Show choreographed to music, and so many more.

Before the night is through, don’t forget to take a ride on the Khicha Family Carousel for only $3. Children can also visit Santa with their wish list. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase at Botanica’s concession stand. Adult drinks will be offered for purchase by Bar on Demand as well.

Don’t feel like walking or have someone in your party with mobility issues? See Illuminations in style with a personalized golf cart tour! You and four of your family or friends can ride in a golf cart for a tour of the lights.

Tours are available beginning November 18th on a limited basis. Tours begin at 5:00 p.m. and are about 45 minutes in length. They cost $125 for up to 5 guests; $100 minimum per golf cart and admission into Illuminations is included. The tour includes a refreshing beverage and a tasty treat! Learn more at


Admission to Illuminations

Admission to Illuminations is $16 for non-member adults, $13 for member adults, military and seniors, $10 ages 3-12 and free for children 2 and under.

Tickets must be purchased prior to the event online. Walk-in tickets will not be available or accepted. If your family doesn’t like the crowds, then weeknights are a great time to visit.

Even after you’ve met Santa and been awed by the light shows, there is still plenty to see at Botanica. The 20 acres of the ever-changing botanical wonderland houses more than 30 themed areas and over 4,000 plant species. As guests wind through the gardens, they will also discover additional gems.
