Wichita’s NEW Inclusive Playground for Kids is Ready for Play

Wichita families have something new to celebrate: the City of Wichita’s first inclusive playground!

L.W. Clapp Memorial Park, located at 4611 E. Harry St, has undergone an incredible transformation, emerging with an inclusive playground for kids, a new dog park, a vibrant public art sculpture, and upgraded walking trails. These additions were designed with inclusivity, accessibility, and community wellness in mind, creating a welcoming space for individuals and families of all abilities.

At the heart of the revitalization is the new playground, thoughtfully designed to welcome children of all abilities. With accessible play structures, sensory-friendly features, and plenty of space to climb, swing, and explore, this playground is more than just fun—it’s a space where all kids can play side-by-side.

But the enhancements don’t stop there. The park now also boasts:

  • A brand-new dog park located at 1950 S. Bluff St., offering off-leash fun for Wichita’s four-legged residents.

  • A colorful public art sculpture, adding creativity and beauty to the landscape.

  • Upgraded walking trails, perfect for a morning stroll, afternoon jog, or family walk with a stroller in tow.

Clapp Park is open—come play, walk, relax, and connect. Everyone is welcome!
