Thank you to Organic Valley for sponsoring this article.

Our family drinks organic milk every morning – whether it’s in smoothies, cereal, oatmeal, or straight from the glass.

We have always drank organic milk, and there is something particularly delicious about Organic Valley’s grass-fed milk made by happy cows. It tastes so rich and hearty! Organic Valley is a cooperative owned by organic farmers and has high standards for the quality of animal care on their farms. This really means more time outside for their cows and the ability to freely graze in their natural surroundings. These standards make for happy cows which makes delicious and nutritious milk, leading to happy kids (and moms)!

Organic Valley goes above and beyond to pour all their love into taking care of their animals, the animals are then in-turn able to provide us with nutritious, delicious organic milk we can feel good about giving our family.

How Organic Valley Makes Happy Cows

Organic Valley farmers place importance on high quality animal care standards and really place importance on their cows being outside and letting them play (and be cows!), provide them with a nutrient rich diet, and provide them with plenty of TLC.

Similar to our own children, cows are happier and healthier when they can freely spend time outside grazing, playing, and roaming. Organic Valley cows are outside 50 percent more than the standard for organic cows.

And because Organic Valley cows are outside 50 percent more than the organic standard, their cows have more grass in their diet. This is a lot like a nutritious and delicious salad bar for humans! Nutrient rich diets are essential for health but also keep the cows feeling good and ultimately help them make nutritious quality milk.

Happy Cows Organic Valley

As a cooperative made up of small family farms, the Organic Valley cooperative keeps their herds small, which allows for plenty of tender loving care for their animals. And it’s not uncommon for Organic Valley farmers to name their cows and call them by name, just like kids name their pets.

Because of this high-quality animal care, the cows are able to produce delicious and nutritious milk.

How Our Family Uses Organic Valley Milk

We are a big smoothie family, and because we are all about balance, we sometimes have an after-dinner treat of milkshakes! We found that the Organic Valley’s happy cows provided the quality ingredient needed to add protein, quality tasting dairy.

Instructions:
Blend ingredients together. *Optional: We love to dip our glasses in whipped cream and add sprinkles. Gives a special “unicorn” effect.
