When you need a small break from all the family time that inevitably happens around the holiday, check out these suggestions for things to do with your friends or your spouse! These events are geared toward teens and adults.

Holiday Tables

View a collection of table settings presented by the area’s most creative hosts and hostesses. Tickets are $10 each and are available for purchase at the door. Children under age 8 are not permitted.

The Polar Express Literacy Event

Saturday, November 23, 5:00pm-7:30pm
Holiday Inn Wichita East, 549 S. Rock Road

The Polar Express Literacy Event is a magical setting around The Polar Express Story. A winter carnival awaits your delight. McCurdy Auction provides an entertaining time with two exclusive auctions: children become the auctioneers and dollars are raised for our Head Start Scholarships!

Christmas on the Prairie

Our final season of wholesome family entertainment is coming up fast. Enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides(weather permitting), classic Christmas movies, hot chocolate, and popcorn from 5PM to 6:15 PM when the dinner bell rings. Then come on in and have all you can eat BBQ meal and enjoy the best local artists performing Christmas music. On Thursdays enjoy A Patsy Cline Christmas with Kim Coslett. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday Matinee enjoy the Prairie Rose Rangers. On Sunday December 15th for an evening performance enjoy The Bucky Fowler Family Country Christmas. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED

Close to You: A Carpenters Christmas

While The Carpenters are known for over a dozen chart topping hits, they also won over their fans with their Christmas celebrations. Singer and playwright Lisa Rock and her 6-piece backing band are keeping The Carpenters’ holiday traditions alive and bringing their unforgettable Christmas songs to the stage. Based on the music of The Carpenters’ two holiday albums and Christmas variety shows, A Carpenters Christmas and featuring “Merry Christmas Darling” and the jazzy “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” it’s a holiday concert that spreads joy and cheer to all.
