The Who

Before we announce our first round of nominees next month, we would first like to introduce you to the ladies of Martin Pringle Attorneys at Law.

I’m in a season of my life where “She Means Business” means some days are about success and some days are about survival. She means business when she is raising babies while raising a business or shattering glass ceilings with a warrior spirit in stilettos. Or, sometimes, she means business through the quiet, subtle support of her tribe of friends, peers, and even competitors who need to be embraced and empowered in all the messy moments along the way. She means business on the days she celebrates a win and on the days she doesn’t see a win in sight. She endures for herself, for those who depend on her, and for those who are watching. She means business because life is tough, but she is tougher.

The idea of “She Means Business” means a woman that knows what she wants and what it takes to get there. Whether she means business by starting one of her own, or rising to the top of any situation she is in, she does what she has to do to get the job done.  She is confident, persistent, and more prepared than those who get in her way. She surrounds herself with the right people and most importantly, she supports and appreciates those who are on her team.

“She means business” means she is a force.  She knows what she wants, she goes after it, and she doesn’t let anything get in her way.  She knows and values her gifts and uses them to advance herself and all those who are smart enough to position themselves on her team.

Adoption & Surrogacy

“She means business,” so she doesn’t just think it, she does it. She doesn’t just say it, she lives it. Women who mean business have a keen sense of purpose. Knowing when to step up and when to step back. The loudest in the room isn’t always the strongest or smartest, sometimes those who sit back and watch are planning greatness. But when she means business, she knows to be the voice for those who can’t speak. Women are caretakers, heroes, givers, supporters, advisors, partners, providers, leaders, and doers. Nothing can stop a woman when she means business.

If “She Means Business”, she knows that failure is an inherent part of her success story. She does not let fear of failure paralyze her or render her complacent. She leans into it, and she keeps going. Her fortitude sustains her. She recovers quickly. She moves forward with purpose empowered by the knowledge that each time she fails she will rise again stronger, fiercer, and better. She stands in the confidence of her creation – not fully formed but satisfyingly complete.

“She means business” means she takes her responsibilities seriously.  She is focused, determined. She knows her stuff, and she knows herself.  She will not be easily intimidated, and if you underestimate her, you will soon wish you hadn’t. But she is also wise enough to keep things in perspective. She knows what is important and what is not – what to fight for, what to negotiate over, and what to just laugh about.

“She Means Business” is the ultimate anthem for the hardworking, very involved women in my life.  As women, we don’t do things part way.  We are 150% involved with our work; 150% involved with our family; 150% involved in our community, and 150% involved with our friends.  Doing all of that and doing it while being fierce and fun and compassionate requires a dedication and focus that the world can see from a mile away.  You can look at a woman on a mission and know—“she means business.”

Teresa Adams

Appellate Law | Civil & Commercial Litigation

“She Means Business” is simple and profound.  Yes, she can.  Yes, she will.  Yes, she does.  A woman who means business has goals and she keeps her eyes on the prize.  She works hard and she lives by the old adage, “If it’s to be, it’s up to me.”  She becomes better, not bitter, when obstacles arise.  A woman who means business is focused and diligent.  She takes care of her family, her career, and herself.  A woman who means business is the most powerful ally on the planet.
