A New Spin on Progressive Dinners :: Use the Q-Line to Tour Wichita’s Food Scene

Whether it’s a new brewery, bakery or food truck turned restaurant, there are so many awesome food and drink options in Wichita. And on the rare occasion that I get a day or night out, I have such a hard time choosing where to go! My list is long, and it’s hard to make progress when more options keep popping up.

That’s when I realized I don’t have to pick just one spot, but why not try three or four in one night?  I had heard of progressive dinners, when a group of friends do a course at each of their homes, like drinks, appetizers, dinner and then dessert.  So why not take that concept and do a progressive dinner out on the town sampling different restaurants in one night?

I’ve tried it a couple of times now with friends and it’s so fun! We split food, try new things, and visit new places plus longtime favorites. The first time we did it, we tried to stay in Old Town within walking distance of each location. But then I discovered how accessible and easy the Q Line Trolley is to use. Now we park our cars and hop on and off the Q Line, going from College Hill, through downtown, to Delano!

The beauty of this is you can do it with just adults, or add kids to the mix. The Q Line is easy for everyone and there’s no shortage of food and drink options for whatever you’re looking for. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Happy eating and exploring!
