Public Libraries across the area have all embraced the summer reading program theme this year of a Universe of Stories. Many local libraries in addition to their summer reading program will host events centered on this theme. For something to do with the little ones, you can always catch one of the many story times around Wichita – we have a comprehensive list for your reading (and listening!) pleasure.
Even if you don’t sign up for anything formal, there are many ways to get your children reading all summer long. Make a reading bucket list, for example read in a park, read in a tent, read a mystery, read a story about a cat, get creative it will keep reading fun. Make a rule that there is no screen time until 20 minutes of reading have been completed. Let your kids catch YOU reading!
