November 2020 – Opening Day for the Prairie Pines Old Fashioned Christmas experience is November 27th, 2020 – Santa arrives at 11am. For 40 years, Prairie Pines has been Wichita’s destination for family fun and holiday traditions. Located at 4055 N. Tyler Road in Maize, KS, Prairie Pines is a Christmas Tree Farm where families can choose-and-cut or select pre-cut Christmas trees.
This year, face masks are required for all guests. And operations will be at a reduced capacity in accordance with local/county guidelines, so be sure to check their social media pages before you head out for a visit to better understand covid restrictions.
During the holidays, their Christmas Tree Farm turns into an “Old Fashioned Christmas” with hot chocolate and cookies, Santa Claus with a beautiful backdrop of flocked trees and an old fashioned sleigh, horse-drawn hay rack rides, and family “train” rides.
Don’t forget the Old Barn Christmas Shop. Every year the rustic log cabin is turned into a festive, beautiful old fashioned Christmas wonderland. There are trees with thousands of ornaments for purchase, and you can have a custom wreath decorated while you shop.
